AIR4NRG JOINS #ZEROENERGYWASTEEU CAMPAIGN TO RAISE AWARENESS OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Air4NRG is participating in the communication campaign #ZeroEnergyWasteEU, a multi-project initiative highlighting the importance of eliminating energy waste in Europe and promoting smarter, more efficient energy use.
Energy that is produced but not used effectively becomes waste, and wasted energy is a missed opportunity. Through this campaign, Air4NRG and its partner projects aim to show how innovation and better systems can reduce energy losses, optimise consumption, and support Europe’s transition towards a clean and resilient energy system.
Air4NRG’s technology embodies the campaign’s message that energy storage is key to avoiding waste and building a fossil-free future. The project’s isothermal compressed air energy storage (I-CAES) system is designed with sustainability at its core: it relies on readily available, recyclable materials such as steel and aluminium, avoiding the use of lithium, cobalt, and rare earth elements commonly found in other storage technologies.

By focusing on materials that are abundant and fully recyclable, Air4NRG ensures a lower environmental footprint and contributes to Europe’s strategic goal of reducing dependence on critical raw materials. The result is a cleaner, safer, and more resilient energy storage solution that helps make every unit of renewable energy count.
The campaign brings together ten EU-funded projects across different fields of the energy transition — from industrial flexibility to thermal systems and storage innovations: Air4NRG, ATENA+, Drive2X, eLITHE, FLEXIndustries, GINNGER, iEPB, Mopo, REN+HOMES, and SSTAR.
