AIR4NRG REACHES KEY MILESTONE AS IT ENTERS ITS FINAL PHASE
Air4NRG marks a key milestone with the first prototype testing phase, led by Segula Technologies and partners in Spain. As the project enters its final year, it focuses on validation, collaboration, and delivering impactful results for future energy storage solutions.
As the year comes to a close, the Air4NRG project reflects on the progress achieved so far and looks ahead to an important final phase. While research and innovation projects often advance through incremental steps, the past months have marked a meaningful transition from design and modelling activities towards hands-on testing and validation.
Last week, ABC and Segula met in Spain to jointly kick off the testing of the first Air4NRG prototype, marking a major step forward for the project. This initial testing phase marks an important milestone, translating theoretical concepts and modelling work into a tangible system that can be observed, measured and refined. While testing of this first prototype is still ongoing and not yet complete, the partners are very encouraged by the results observed so far, which provide a strong basis for the next phases of development. Bringing partners together on site allowed for direct technical exchange, joint analysis of the first results and alignment on the next development steps.
Although results are still emerging, the progress made so far confirms the value of close collaboration between research and industry partners. Bringing together different areas of expertise has been essential in moving from concept to prototype, and in addressing the technical challenges inherent to innovative energy storage solutions.
Looking ahead, 2026 will be the final year of the Air4NRG project. This next phase will focus increasingly on consolidation: completing prototypes development, advancing testing activities, and sharing results with stakeholders through targeted dissemination actions. As the project matures, these efforts will help maximise impact and prepare the ground for future exploitation and deployment opportunities.
Air4NRG enters its final year with strong momentum and a clear focus on delivering meaningful results.
